Privacy policy.

This page explains what data EmbarkDev collects when you visit our site or get in touch, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what your rights are. We've kept it short and plain because that's how privacy policies should be.

Who we are

EmbarkDev is a full-stack consulting studio based in Sarasota, Florida. EmbarkDev is a trade name of Embark Companies LLC, a Florida limited liability company, when this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means Embark Companies LLC, doing business as EmbarkDev. We're the data controller for any personal information described below.

If you have any questions about this policy, email support@embarkco.com.

What we collect

Two categories of data, mostly:

  • Contact form submissions. When you fill out the form on our contact page, we receive whatever you put in it, typically your name, email address, company, project description, and budget range. This is sent directly to our inbox via email.
  • Privacy-friendly analytics. We use Plausible, a cookieless analytics tool that collects only aggregated, anonymized data, the page viewed, approximate region (from IP, which is never stored), browser type, and referring site. It can't identify you, follows no one across sites, and sets no tracking cookies. That's why you won't see a cookie banner here.

We don't collect or store payment information on our website, billing happens through invoices once we're working together.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your inquiry and have a conversation about working together.
  • To understand which pages and topics our visitors find useful, so we can improve the site.
  • To prevent abuse (spam, automated form submissions) and keep the site working reliably.

How long we keep it

Contact form submissions are kept in our email until the conversation is no longer relevant, typically 1–2 years if we don't end up working together, or for the duration of our working relationship plus 7 years if we do (for accounting reasons). Analytics data is retained for up to 24 months.

You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@embarkco.com.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. The only third parties involved are infrastructure providers we depend on to run the site:

  • Our hosting provider, which delivers the site to your browser and may log standard request data (IP, user agent).
  • Our email provider, which delivers and stores form submissions sent to us.
  • Our analytics provider, which aggregates anonymized visitor data so we can see traffic patterns.

Each of these providers has their own privacy practices, and we only work with ones that take privacy seriously.

Cookies

Our site uses the minimum cookies required to function, typically none beyond what's needed for the page itself to work. We don't set tracking cookies for advertising purposes. If you've disabled cookies in your browser, the site will still work.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (notably the EU under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you have the right to:

  • Ask us what data we have about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
  • Ask us to delete it.
  • Ask us to export it in a portable format.
  • Object to certain uses of it.

To exercise any of these, email support@embarkco.com. We'll respond within 30 days, usually faster.

Children

Our services are aimed at businesses, not individuals under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also note them in a visible way on the site for at least 30 days.

Contact

Questions, requests, or complaints, email support@embarkco.com. We read every message and reply within a day, usually the same day.
